Products I’ve Loved During COVID-19 Lockdown
Since March 16th, I’ve been “grounded” to my house. During this time, I’ve missed my clients, and my French 101 students, that I have at the local Junior High I teach at. The plus side of being in my house, I’ve discovered some products that I’ve loved, products that I’ve truly lived in and ones that I’ve been using for a while now, and just decided to share!
Being a hairstylist I have access to all all of the hair products available. Lately my favorites have been Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Pravana Purple Masque.
-Olaplex offers a lot of products, and if your hairstylist offers them within their salon, I highly suggest you allow them to put it in your color. The products that are available to our clients to use at home are No. 3-7. No. 3 is an at home treatment that can be used on your hair 1-2 times a week, depending on how damaged your hair is. No. 4 is a shampoo, this shampoo is so concentrated, that you do not need more than a dime size amount! Trust me when I say this will be enough to suds up your hair. No. 5 is their conditioner, its very thick, and should be applied to the midshafts and ends of your hair. I typically apply my conditioner, and then I shave my legs. I do this because you probably shouldn’t rush through shaving your legs, to help avoid cutting yourself! I highly recommend these products, whether your hair is damaged or not. Fun fact, if you do any chemical services, or use any hot tools on you hair, that is damaging your hair. You can purchase all of these products here. I do not recommend purchasing Olaplex or any other professional hair products via Amazon, any grocery stores, or TJMAXX.
-Pravana Purple Toning Masque; Being a blonde I love this product! I use the Pureology shampoo in my show routine, but this toning masque is AMAZING. I use it about twice a week, and I work it into my shower routine that I have when it comes to shaving my legs. I will apply the purple masque all over my hair, shave one legs, rinse, apply my conditioner, shave the other leg, and then rinse. Boom, keeps my hair beautifully blonde, and helps keep away any unwanted yellow or brassy tones! I recommend you purchasing this from your hairdresser. If you’re local to Lafayette and want to purchase it from my salon, let me know! This is my beauty routine, I do it day and night. I started using BeautyCounter, when my good friend and esthetician Kelsey introduced it to me. I love the products so much, and the fact that every product is clean, that I signed up and started offering it within my salon. It also helped that as a consultant, you receive a 25% discount on the products! Each product I list will have the direct link to purchase! I will also list them in the exact order that I used them in.
-Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser - I personally love this cleanser, because I’m able to use everyday and it doesn’t dry my face out. It also helps exfoliate my skin using jojoba beads, while removing all my makeup, and dirt. This cleanser also smells citrusy, and not like your typical cleanser full of chemicals.
-Counter+ All Bright C Serum - This antioxidant-rich treatment instantly brightens skin and boost a glow. I got this before its been available to the public so that I could try it out, and give an honest review. Every time I’ve used this product, I’ve gotten compliments of my clients saying “Oh my gosh you’re glowing!” It’s safe to say I think this product works wonders.
-Rejuvenating Eye Cream - The skin under your eyes is so very thin, I got lucky enough to get eczema on my eyelids and sometimes under my eyes in the winter time. I have found that this cream helps me so much. I’m not a doctor, so if you have this issue I recommend you consulting with your doctor first. It also has helped reduce the puffiness in my eyes, which was also found during the consumer test panel results. You’ll love this product, and I truly don’t think you’ll regret it! It retails for $63.
-Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion-I got this as a “sample” (it’s full size) in my FabFitFun box, and it’s truly the best. This is an antiaging treatment that targets the appearance of wrinkles and loss of resilience by rapidly visibly revolumizing skin and infusing skin’s surface with collagen amino acids. I typically put it on after I put on my Vitamin C serum. You can purchase this product from Sephora, and it retails for $78.
-Countertime Antioxidant Soft Cream- this I my day cream that I use from BeautyCounter. The Countertime is the anti-aging line that BeautyCounter offers, and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin. It’s the final product I’ apply after I’ve applied everything else to this face of mine. I don't feel like it leaves my face feeling oily, greasy, or heavy. It also still allows me to wear make-up without my face feeling heavy. This product retails for $79.
-Countertime Tetrapeptide Supreme Cream- This is my night cream! At time I repeat everything is did the morning, BUT I replace my day cream with this amazing night cream. It’s also from the BeautyCounter Anti-aging Line. I feel like this night cream is very thick and hydrating, but when I wake up in the morning, my face is NOT greasy, which means that it doesn’t clog my pores! Thats 100% a product that I can get behind, and it retails for $89.I don’t know what you’ve been wearing during this time of us being grounded to our homes, but I have been living in sweats. Actually I’ve been living in Fabletics leggings and these amazing sweatshirts from Target!
-Fabletics Leggings- I going Fabletics in February and I haven’t regretted the decision since! They are hands down my FAVORITE lettings. When you join you get your first set of leggings for $24, then every month after that you have 5 days to in the beginning of the month to “skip” this months option and not purchase anything. The leggings that are my favorites are the Kessler High-Waisted 7/8 leggings, and the High-Waisted Powerhold 7/8 leggings. This is absolutely a purchase you won’t regret signing up for.
-Pullover Tunic Sweatshirt- I love this sweatshirt so much, that I own it in three different colors. This sweatshirt is from the holy land, the best place on earth, the one and only Target. The inside of these are lined in fleece, thick enough to wear it as a single layer, and thin enough to wear it over a t-shirt for a little extra warmth. I personally have purchased these in a size medium, because I wear them with my leggings, and I like for them to be a little oversized. They retail for $24.99, and honestly they are so comfortable, I’d be willing to pay more for them (don’t get any ideas Target)!!Ladies, shaving you legs is a huge deal, and it’s something you look forward to as a teenager, or at least I did. Now that I'm an adult, it’s not so exciting, but I do enjoy having smooth legs. The only way to achieve that is by this amazing combo.
-The Billie Razor-YA’LL!! Stop what you’re doing, click the link, and order the dang razor. I had seen a lot of ads before I finally order it, and then I convinced one of my best girlfriends to order it, and they loved it just as much as I did. For $9 and free shipping, you will get the handle, magic holder, and 2 blades. You get to choose from four different colors, then you can decided how often you’d like for your refill blades to be sent! I’ve spent a lot of money in my life, but this is hands down the best $9 spent, EVER.
-Cremo Shaving Cream-I stumbled upon this shaving cream while doing a Target (duh) pick-up order, because social distancing and it’s frowned upon to actually go shopping in the stores unless it’s essential. Anyway I decided to go with the French Lavender, because lavender is calming and the steam from a hot shower opens your pores, and honestly I just felt like this was a fantastic idea. Regardless, this shaving cream has left my legs feeling so soft and mositurized, that I will definitely be purchasing it again. It retails for $5.99.Self Care-I have enjoyed doing a lot of self care since this lockdown, and I decided to save the best for last.
-AG Hair Care Fast Food- I got this “sample (it’s full size), in my FabFit Fun box. It’s a leave-in conditioner that adds a lot of moisture to your hair. I apply this to my hair after I have showered and towel dried my hair. I use a dime size amount, and apply it through my hair, avoiding my scalp so that my roots don’t get greasy. This product also smells like candy and I’m honestly here for that. It retails for $24 and I can’t wait to purchase it again, I’m also considered adding it to my retail in my salon.
-Counter+ Charcoal Face Mask- Ya’ll this mask is absolutely amazing, I apply it right after I wash my face with the cleanser that I wrote about in the beginning. Apply this mask with your fingers and allow it to dry, yes its going to get super tight and you won’t be able to smile. It’ll be worth it. Once this mask has completely dried, take a CLEAN washcloth, run it under warm/hot water, and then wipe the mask off. Apply your routine like normal! It retails for $49.
I hope ya’ll have enjoyed learning about a few of the things that have helped keep me sane during this time. Each item is linked, so you can click it, and shop for the exact item!!
